This essay is a brief account on the life history of BITWEDED NEGASH BEZABEH (fLto39 tln nHAU) for about sixty-three years from his childhood to his death. The repor.t in the first chapter of the essay is briefly concerned with the family background and earlier life history of Negash. Besides, it indicates his participation and contribution in the Shire campaign largely based on the information gathered from different informants who knew Negash well and is supplemented by written materials. The second chapter is concerned with the five years resistance movement during the ltalian occupation. lt is relatively wider than the other two chapters in scope and based on some written sources; Negash’s original letters collected and documented in the l.E.S Library, documents of Negash filed in the library of the Patriots Association at Arat Kilo Besides, informants who were direct participants in the five year resistance movement and there relatives were interviewed. The third chapter is
concerned with Negash’s Political career after liberation.

Negash’s political career after liberation is one of the special interest in this paper. The conditions through which Negash passed all the 31 years from 1941 to 1972 characterizes the typical political situation that prevailed under the leadership of Emperor Haile Selassie. lt is in the second and third chapter that the researcher emphasized on a close examination of the life and career of Bitweded Negash Bezabeh. The researcher is under deep obligation to thank those whose cooperation and assistance have enabled him to conduct his study. First of all thanks must be offered to Woizero Elizabeth Solomon for her kind help in contacting informants for their help in the work of uncovering the story of Negash.
